Here, the image of a Dove is seen in the crystal. And that's Vesta powder on the altar cloth, people LOL

We spent quite a bit of time communing separately with our dearly departed. I received many insights and words of wisdom. Two of my companion animals, both cats, passed this year, both quite suddenly, and I was allowed to give and receive love through the veil and be assured that they were happy and content and together. I feel more at peace, knowing that they remain close by. sigh.
Bastet and Anubis called on us as God and Goddess this year. We created flash fires with Vesta powder to represent the power of the Light, and as we stated our intent and wishes for the coming year. We pulled oracle cards and read their meanings, and divined with pendulums. We said farewell to the God, and celebrated the Crone with a magnificent feast of Mandarin cuisine.
Every sabbat we anoint our wands with the oils of the season, and my rowan and lilac wands are fairly saturated at this point! We also keep personal jars that we place ashes from each sabbat into. We reconsecrated our divining tools on this night, welcomed the New Year, and petitioned for protection and abundance throughout the cold and dark winter.

We had so much fun decorating for our favorite season! Autumn is a beautiful time, before we descend into darkness for the long Winter.

Just a close up of part of the altar.

This is my first journal entry. Hopefully, I'll have time to add myriad entries as time allows; I already have an extensive page on MySpace http://www.myspace.com/hathorearthfyre so if you want to get to know me that would be a great place to start. I also have an entry on Pimp My Altar in LiveJournal; I plan to post each Sabbat altar that my covenmate Oshun and I create. We've really gotten into the ambiance and deep meaning of each Sabbat, though Samhain was quite harried and our altar was created in a flurry. The energy was intense, however, and it radiated from our altar very spectacularly, as you can see from the pic. (It's in my pics). We spent a lot of our time in circle with consecrating and cleansing our tarot cards, pendulums and other divination tools. We buried apples in our Secret Garden that were inscribed with the names of those loved ones who have passed to the Summerland. Maybe a tree will grow from our efforts. That would be wondrous! Well, moving on, with hopes of a beautiful tomorrow for all of you.
Life is good!
Love,
Hathor Earthfyre
